Sims 2 Lighting Hack?

ambient lighting Sims 2 Lighting Hack?

ambient lighting Sims 2 Lighting Hack?
The Sims 2 Game is really nice but it’s also driving me nuts comparing to Sims 1. I despise how the indoor light is so insufficient and it’s always depressingly dark (and don’t tell me anything about video settings and video cards, I’ve checked all that).

I really liked how in Sims 1, once you add 2 or 3 windows in a room, the entire room lights up uniformly to just as bright as outdoor.

I’d like to reconfig the Sims 2′s lighting to be like that from Sims 1, no more ambient or diffusion lighting, just a uniformly lit up room like the outdoor. I know it might have something to do with the lighting.txt file, or maybe even a download hack, but someone please please tell me how to do this, it’s driving me crazy seeing a dim small room =(

It all depends on the size of room, no matter wat you do if you have a huge room, its gonna be hard to light it up like outside..

Are your settings on high with everything? Can your computer handel it and if you know it can then go to http://modthesims2.com

This might sound silly but is there any lamps inside first of all? Auto-lights might be off.

Second, its called realistic lighting. The sun doesn’t stay at the same area so in some areas, its going to be darker than the sun-beaten rooms.

Try looking at the lighting options and twink as needed.

Well, I really really agree with the first person who answered, but I can give you links to some lighting hacks that you can read over to see if you feel one of them may help. And yes, I’ve also seen instructions on how to modify the lighting.txt file as well, but I cannot remember the instructions so would not even try to tell you what to do. Nor can I remember now where I read them — I belong to at least 20 different sims 2 websites and have for about 4 years now.

I started looking for one and ran across this. If you read it, it also give you links to other lighting mods and it looks like it may also give you links explaining how to edit your lighting.txt. I only skimmed over it though, so I’m not positive about that last part.
